Why Northgate?

Northgate offers a complete, end-to-end solution incorporating easy-to-use software and Accreditation to support the work of Energys Assessors in the production of Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) for New Homes. Quality assurance is important to Northgate and the Accreditation Scheme ensures that the quality of EPCs produced are of a suitably high standard. The Northgate Accreditation Scheme supports continuing professional development to ensure that the skills of energy assessor members are maintained.

Accredited On-Construction Energy Assessors may produce EPCs for dwellings using the full SAP software, the majority of EPCs will be for new dwellings. Domestic Energy Asessors (DEAs) are not able to produce EPCs for new dwellings. Northgate Energy Assessors may practice in England , Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.  

How do I join the On-Construction Scheme?

Firstly, you need to have completed or undertaking the DipNDEA Diploma, this may be level 3 or 4. If you do not have the DipNDEA qualification please see our training pages. We encourage all applicants to send in their application forms with as much information as possible so we can start the accreditation process. Please mark on your forms if you are awaiting an item and when you think this will be forthcoming. We will then tie up the paperwork and complete the accreditation process.

To apply to join the scheme you will then to complete the application form, read the associated documents carefully and return the form plus the items on the checklist (detailed on the appplication form) to us at the address on the application form.

What happens next?

Providing we receive your application form, qualification and all other required documentation, we aim to turn around applications within 3 working days. We are however dependant on external bodies to assist us with our verification processes and this is out of our control.

We will contact you to let you know that your applicaiton has been successful or not. If your applicaiton is successful we will forward your welcome pack containing your portal logon detils and ID card and also make arrangements for the annual membership and portal credit payments to be collected. If you have been unsuccessful we will contact you with the reason in accordance to the terms and conditions fo the scheme.

As an accredited energy assessor you will be sent regualr bulletins, guidelines and other scheme documents. Please also refer to the New Dwellings and CPD sections for further detils about working as a On-Construction Energy Assessor.
