Private Rental EPCs

An EPC is required for all properties which are rented out. Obtaining the EPC is the responsibility of the property owner or the letting agent who is acting on the owners behalf. Domestic Energy Assessors are qualified to produce EPCs  for such properties. The EPC for rental purposes is valid for up to 10 years and does not need to be replaced on subsequent change of tenancy, although it would be advisable to do so if the property has undergone substantial improvements.
