Social Housing EPC Solutions
Properties owned by Local Authorities or RSLs require an EPC on change of tenancy. This work can be done by existing Domestic Energy Assessors (DEAs). Please see the Domestic section for more details about the DEA Accreditation scheme.
Housing stock that has the same (or very similar) characteristics in terms of built form, heating systems and dimensions may be cloned using a sampling methodology. DEAs that use the cloning techniques must complete a CPD module provided by the Northgate accreditation scheme.
An EPC for rental purposes is valid for up to 10 years and does not need to be replaced on subsequent change of tenancy during this 10 year period. If the property has undergone substantial improvements it would be recommended that a replacement EPC be obtained.
