Following successful training, every Energy Assessor must register with an approved Accreditation scheme in order to practice.

The aim of the Accreditation scheme is to ensure that members are qualified to undertake energy assessments and operate within a code of conduct. The Accreditation scheme will be required to carry out identity and criminal records checks (for Domestic Assessors) on its members and to ensure that procedures are in place to deliver consistent and accurate energy assessments.

In England & Wales accreditation schemes are licenced by the Department for Communities and Local Government who provide minimum standards which all accreditation schemes must meet. Northgate operates a well established high quality scheme and EPC lodgement system.
